Life B4:

The Long White Walls History and Genealogy Collection: Oregon Pioneers of the 1900's - Reflections of life before. The Long White Walls collection is about the pioneering spirit of the northwest. It includes, papers, pictures, stories, paintings, some birth records, and news clips.

Dr. M.H. White (1843-1923)a pioneer doc ahead of his time, kept accurate records useful for genealogy as well as appreciation for the value of a dollar (then compared to now). He was also an insightful writer, violinist, entrepreneur, and political fanatic. His writings shed light on how we got to where we are as well as thought about where we need to be. P.V. White (1905-1982) not much for writing but he could tell a story and taught his kids all the necessary survival skills - how to track wild animals, be safe in the wilderness, and to shoot a riffle without shooting yourself in the process. Elsie B. (Long) White, (1909-1967) her landscape paintings offer a view of what Oregon looked like before there was clear-cut. Clive Long an active outdoorsman hiked Larch Mountain 27 times before there was a road, and climbed Mt. Hood. See his photos before they all fade away. R.T. Walls (1925 - 2011) the son of a homesteader and a man who turned his back on civilization. He lived a quiet life in tune with nature. Every visit with him was a lesson.
